Tristan has dedicated his time and efforts to 22 Jumps in honor of his brother who took his own life after sustaining a TBI in Iraq while serving in the United States Marine Corps. TBI is a major risk factor for suicide. 22 Jumps supports CVB’s research, with the goal of making TBI more detectable and treatable.
Jordan Laird enlisted in the Marines in 2005 and completed combat tours in Ramadi, Iraq, in 2007, and Sangin, Afghanistan, in 2010. He served as a Scout Sniper instructor at the 1st Marine Division Pre-Scout Sniper School in 2011. He served as staff noncommissioned officer in charge of the Scout Sniper platoon for 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines. He now coaches Veterans and first responders in trauma integration and recovery.
Adam Krum served in the Marine Corps for four years. He completed two deployments in Iraq and survived a gunshot wound in 2004. After struggling with depression during his transition away from the Marine Corps, and losing four of his platoon brothers to suicide, Adam found joy in parachute sports. He joins 22 Jumps to honor those he has lost and to make a difference for all Veterans.
Former Marine and Scout Sniper Tristan Wimmer, whose own brother, a Raider and Recon Marine Veteran, succumbed to suicide in 2015 after struggling with TBI-related depression and anxiety for nearly a decade, partnered with CVB in 2020 on 22 Jumps. Through the 22 Jumps events, Tristan brings new hope to this epidemic by raising money for CVB’s brain health research and to speed new effective solutions for all patients.
