The 2017 NAMI National Convention, themed: Educate, Empower, Engage, is recruiting top-notch researchers and clinicians to provide information and tools for advancing recovery from mental illness. At this conference, Dr. Magali Haas, CEO and President of Cohen Veterans Bioscience, will chair the workshop “Wearables and Mobile Health Platform for PTSD” on June 30th.

This Workshop will cover how technological advances, such as wearable biosensors, can be leveraged to optimize patients’ health by helping to diagnose and monitor brain diseases. Demonstrations of novel wearables and biosensors, along with interactive discussions of how data are monitored, will increase participants‚ familiarity with current wearable devices. Speakers will cover the following topics:

• Dr. Daniela Brunner of the non-profit organization, Early Signal, will share results from a pilot study that is creating an integrated system of wearables and smart devices to capture different domains of PTSD.
• Dr. Paul Dagum of Mindstrong Health will discuss solutions for unobtrusively, continuously, and remotely measuring cognitive function.
• Mr. Guilhem Dupont of MyHealios will close by discussing a therapeutic telehealth platform for providing psychoeducation to caregivers of people with mental disorders.

NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. The 2017 National Convention program begins on Wednesday, June 28, and ends with the closing night banquet on Saturday, July 1.
