More Information:

Tyler Guerriero, an Air Force reservist and Marine Veteran, has served our country for the past twelve years. To support CVB’s PTSD research, Tyler is running Denver’s Colfax Marathon on October 16, 2021, to raise awareness that PTSD can be a risk factor for suicide. Tyler is advocating for new research and expanded PTSD treatment options to help the many active duty members of the armed forces and Veterans who are suffering. Tyler was inspired to advocate for the cause after seeing a former business school classmate, Tristan Wimmer and his 22 Jumps fundraising efforts.

Tyler shared how he found Cohen Veterans Bioscience and decided to run this marathon to support PTSD research:

“My new personal goal of running a marathon was inspired by an upcoming move to Denver, CO and the realization that my 30th birthday was just around the corner. During the sign-up process for the Denver Colfax Marathon, I was asked if I wanted to run for a charity. Having spent the past 12 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Air Force, I’ve seen and heard how devastating PTSD can be to veterans and their families. Through a desire to help with this ongoing issue, I reached out to a fellow military veteran and classmate during my time at the University of Pittsburgh, Tristan Wimmer. Tristan has worked with the Cohen Veterans Bioscience charity through his fundraising efforts with 22 Jumps.

Cohen Veterans Bioscience is a non-profit biomedical research and technology organization dedicated to advancing brain health by fast-tracking precision diagnostics and tailored therapeutics. Alongside running the Denver Colfax Marathon, it is my goal to raise and donate $1,000 to Cohen Veterans Bioscience towards new and ongoing research for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) treatment options for active military members and veterans.

Please take a few minutes to look at their website as well as 22 Jumps. Thank you so much for your support!”
