Cohen Veterans Bioscience Joins the American Brain Coalition

Cohen Veterans Bioscience (CVB) is proud to announce our membership into the American Brain Coalition (ABC). The ABC is a nonprofit organization of over 100 leading United States' professional neurological, psychological, and psychiatric associations and patient organizations with a collective goal to advance the understanding of the functions of the brain and reduce the burden of brain disorders through public education and advocacy.

CVB has chosen to join the ABC to support our mission to advance advocacy objectives on behalf of the 50 million patients who suffer from the devastating effects of brain disorders. The ABC is an instrumental partner of the Congressional Neuroscience Caucus, a bipartisan Congressional group co-chaired by Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Representative Earl Blumenauer (D-OR). The ABC and Congressional Neuroscience Caucus regularly host event that focus on bringing awareness to and understanding of the underlying biology of brain disorders and CVB is excited to contribute to these educational and advocacy activities.

In addition, CVB is proud to join with the ABC to advocate for the creation of a Neuroscience Center of Excellence at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This FDA center would be an effective mechanism to encourage innovation both in drug development and regulation of brain-focused therapeutics utilizing a model with demonstrated success in cancer. We look forward to working alongside our fellow non-profit colleagues to ensure that brain health is prioritized at the Federal level.
