ALS Patients Being PRO-ACTive: Can ALS Big Data Bring the Next ALS Breakthrough

This webinar from August 7, 2014 features Dr. Neta Zach, the Chief Scientific Officer of Prize4Life Israel.

Prize4Life was founded in 2006 with the mission of accelerating the discovery of treatments and a cure for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a terminal disease whose cause has eluded scientists for over a century. Dr. Zach has been with Prize4Life since 2011 and, in her current capacity as Chief Scientific Officer, manages its programmatic portfolio, including the PRO-ACT database, an award-winning database of ALS patient data from past clinical trials.

In the webinar, Dr. Zach describes this initiative, which is led by patients and patient-based non-profits to bring together data from failed clinical trials in order to create the largest ALS database to date and make it available to 1000 researchers worldwide.

Neta Zach, PhD, MPA, is the Chief Scientific Officer  at Prize4Life Israel and managed all of its programmatic portfolio including the PRO-ACT database, an award winning, largest of its kind database of ALS patient data from past clinical trials, the ALS prediction prize, the ALS gene of ALS genetic information and the ALS forum of ALS news and other programs.

Dr. Zach has been with Prize4Life since 2011. Before Joining Prize4Life, Dr. Zach was a faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her PhD (in computational neuroscience) from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem Israel and her MPA from the University of Pennsylvania. She completed a post doctoral work at the Rockefeller University under a Fulbright scholarship.
